Empowering the Next Generation

Education and Youth Programs

Our core education services:

  • Homework club
  • School attendance support
  • Afaan Oromo classes
  • Leadership & Cultural development development

AOCV believes that the strength and future of our community rest in the hands of our youth. We are committed to providing young Oromo Australians with the support, skills, and confidence they need to succeed academically, personally, and professionally.

⦁ Academic Support:
We understand that school can sometimes be challenging, especially for students balancing academics with cultural identity. Our after-school programs offer tutoring and homework assistance to help students excel in their studies. Beyond academics, we also encourage cultural pride, helping young people stay connected to their Oromo roots while thriving in the Australian education system.

⦁ Youth Leadership Mentoring:
Developing strong, confident leaders is key to building a vibrant community. Our mentoring programs focus on helping youth build essential leadership skills, improve their self-confidence, and embrace a sense of responsibility toward their community. Through guidance and positive role models, we aim to shape the leaders of tomorrow.

⦁ Career Development Workshops:
Planning for the future can be overwhelming, but AOCV is here to help. We run practical workshops on resume writing, interview preparation, and goal setting, equipping young people with the tools and knowledge they need to successfully navigate Australia’s job market and pursue their career aspirations.

Through these programs, AOCAV supports youth in unlocking their full potential while staying rooted in their cultural identity.
