Giving a Voice to Our Community At AOCV

Advocacy and Human Rights Efforts

We believe in standing up for what’s right and ensuring that the Oromo community’s voice is heard. Advocacy and human rights work are at the heart of our mission, as we strive to protect and promote the rights and well-being of our community members.

• Lobbying and Representation:
We actively engage with government officials, policymakers, and community leaders to advocate for the Oromo community in Australia. Our efforts focus on gaining recognition, securing resources, and influencing policies that positively impact the lives of Oromo Australians. Whether it’s addressing social injustices or improving access to education and healthcare, we work hard to ensure the needs of our community are acknowledged and addressed.

• Human Rights Partnerships:
AOCV collaborates with Australian charities, human rights organisations, and advocacy groups to promote equality and social justice. We also extend our efforts globally, standing in solidarity with Oromo communities around the world who are facing challenges and injustices. By working together with like-minded organisations, we amplify our voice and strengthen our impact.

Through our advocacy and human rights efforts, we aim to create lasting change, ensuring a better, fairer future for the Oromo community both locally and globally.
