Elderly Engagement Programs
Our core Oromo elders program:
- Socialising
- Interpretation of documents
- Transportation
- Home Visitation
- physical activities
At AOCV, we deeply respect and value our elders, who are the guardians of our history, culture, and traditions. We are committed to ensuring they remain active, supported, and connected within the community.
⦁ Social Inclusion Activities:
Loneliness and isolation can be challenging for many seniors, which is why we focus on creating meaningful opportunities for connection. We organise regular gatherings and social activities that bring elders together, such as cultural storytelling sessions, group outings, community meals, and traditional events. These gatherings not only offer companionship but also allow seniors to share their wisdom and experiences, strengthening the community’s cultural ties.
⦁ Access to Elderly Services:
Navigating healthcare and government systems can be difficult, especially for older adults. Our team is here to help seniors access the services they need, whether it’s enrolling in healthcare plans, understanding pension options, or applying for government benefits. We work closely with seniors to ensure they have the necessary resources to live comfortably and independently.
Through our Elderly Engagement Programs, AOCV aims to create a supportive environment where our elders feel valued, heard, and connected, all while preserving the cultural heritage they have passed down through generations.
